A Dalheimer & Co

Founded in 1908 in Melbourne by August Dalheimer, a third-generation lapidarist, or gemstone cutter, Dalheimer & Co was at that point a prosperous store dealing in precious jewellery. The first workshop was set up at the corner of Elizabeth and Little Collins street and by 1914 the business was in fine financial standing. On the business's advertising boards, Dalheimer & Co made big claims about the company being the oldest in Australia and the first to specialize solely in gem cutting.

H. Dalheimer & Co. has served Melbourne for over 100 years, supplying the city and its private clients with the precious stone trading and commissioned jewelry services that they have become known for.

Several of our esteemed clients, themselves are third-generation jewellers, or third generation families who have chosen A Dalheimer & Co as their trusted supplier of high-end gems and hard goods.

The business is now run by Brenton, August's grandson, who employs over 50 years of experience in cutting and polishing beautiful jewels by hand. He creates stunning jewelry pieces as well as restores treasured heirlooms.
